Whether your car has an automatic or manual transmission, it’s essential to have it in tip-top shape. The transmission of a new Toyota is a complex mechanism that sends power to your wheels and allows drivers to shift gears. You may know if your transmission is failing when you have difficulty shifting gears, gears shift on their own, or you have a warning light on.

Prevention is the best method for avoiding this expensive car repair. If you want to know how to make your transmission last longer, these tips can help make it past 200,000 miles.

Check your transmission fluid

Many people don’t understand the importance of transmission fluid or aren’t aware it needs to be monitored. Although transmission fluid needs to be changed less than other fluids, it can still deteriorate or leak over time – especially if you drive a lot. Bring your car into our Toyota service center every 30,000 miles to check your transmission fluid.

Watch your gears

If you drive a manual car, driving in the wrong gears can quickly run down your transmission. So, if you’re a beginner, be sure to follow this guide about how to drive a stick shift.

Don’t overload

Even if you own the most powerful Toyota truck on the market, there’s a limit to how much you can tow. Going over your vehicle’s maximum towing or carrying capacity can damage your transmission.

Confront issues as they come

If you suspect something might be wrong with your transmission, take your car into a service center as soon as possible. At Sansone Toyota, our specialized technicians can replace and repair your transmission with OEM Toyota parts. By getting the issue fixed quickly and using quality parts, you’ll be saving thousands of dollars in the long run.

Despite being a Japanese car company, Toyota has an undeniable presence in the United States. From classic sedans like the Toyota Camry to powerful trucks like the Toyota Tundra, these reliable and fuel-efficient vehicles help bring the latest automotive technology to America. Now, the brand has announced its recent $13 billion dollar investment, and it’s going to create more than new just new models.

The Future of Toyota in the US

In light of recent sales growth, Toyota has upped its investment in the US by 30 percent in the form of a $13 billion dollar budget. The budget was made to account for the manufacturing of new Toyota models, such as the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hybrid. At Sansone Toyota, we’ve personally seen Toyota cars become more fuel-efficient, powerful, and safe. It’s no question that we’re excited to see so many upgrades being made on Toyota cars.

For some, these upgrades could include a new job. Toyota states its investment will create 600 new jobs throughout the US by 2021. These opportunities will all be available for the brand’s Alabama, West Virginia, Missouri, and Tennessee manufacturing plants.

Why Buy a Toyota Car?

Toyota makes a difference that stretches further than its vehicles. In addition to employing thousands of American workers, the brand also hosts charity events like the recent Walk in My Boots program. Not to mention, when you buy a Toyota car, you’re buying a reliable vehicle that will last you years and take you anywhere.

If you live near Avenel, NJ and are considering a new sedan, SUV, or truck, we have several options here at Sansone Toyota. We’ve served customers in the greater New York area for over 50 years, and our dedication shows through our customer service. Give us a call or stop by for a test drive to take the first step towards finding your dream car.

At Sansone Toyota, we offer powerful off-roading vehicles like the Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Tacoma, and Toyota Tundra. If you own an off-road ready model, it might be intimidating to know where to start. After all, off-roading is about more than having the right car. Follow these tips straight from our Toyota dealership, and you’ll be blazing trails in no time!

Finding the Right Equipment

Gearing up for your adventure with optional additions such as fog lamps, roof racks, and protective bumpers can help you navigate easily off-road. It’s also essential to make sure your vehicle has the right tires for off-roading to get the best traction.

Understanding Controls

Many off-roading vehicles, such as the Toyota 4Runner, have advanced traction control options. These allow you to easily prepare you for driving in snow, water, or mud. Activating traction control while driving off-road is important to keep you safe and unstuck.

You’ll also want to pay attention to the terms “4WD High” and “4WD Low.” When driving in 4WD low, you’ll be in a lower gear that allows you more torque while off-roading. The lower gear will allow your car to power through uneven terrain. On the other hand, 4WD High is best for everyday, on-road driving.

Preparing for the Ride

Be prepared for the worst; always pack a first aid kit and warm clothes in case of emergency. To prevent getting stuck when off-roading, don’t try to keep spinning. Stop as soon as you start losing momentum. Lower tire pressure; lowering tire pressure to 20 to 25 psi helps maintain traction. It will also help your tires adapt to the surface you’re driving on.

Follow these tips, and you’ll be taking your car off-road in no time. If you still have questions, feel free to contact our NJ Toyota dealers!

The Toyota Tacoma is one of the most popular Toyota models in the new TRD Series. Equipped with off-road capability and a towing capacity of up to 6,800 lb, it’s a beloved midsize pickup truck among New Jersey drivers for all the right reasons. However, critics of the Toyota Tacoma have noted its lack of technology features in comparison to other Toyota cars, but the 2020 Toyota Tacoma puts those doubts to rest.

2020 Toyota Tacoma Updates

For starters, the new Toyota Tacoma flaunts a new infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen, or an available eight-inch touchscreen in top models. The touchscreen allows drivers to easily access navigation, music options, apps, and more. The Toyota Tacoma truck’s infotainment system is also Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ compatible, meaning drivers can take calls, reply to texts, and manage different applications right on the center display. If you have an Amazon Alexa system, the car is compatible with that too! What’s more, when you upgrade to the Limited trim level, the Toyota truck is equipped with a surround-view camera, providing a 360-degree visual of the vehicle.

Toyota has decided to promote the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid with an inspiring message during the Super Bowl this year. While we all love the humorous ads during the commercial breaks, the Super Bowl is also a great opportunity to promote encouraging messages. After all, over 100 million people worldwide gather to watch the event.

The Story of Toni Harris

Toyota’s inspiring super bowl ad centers around Toni Harris, a 22-year old woman who has made football history. She is the first woman to be offered a football scholarship to play on a regular defensive team. Toni stated she was eager to partner with Toyota in a “like-minded quest to defy expectations, lead the change, and overcome adversity.”

Defying expectations is exactly what the commercial centers around. As the ad recreated Toni’s struggles of being told she is “too small, slow, and weak” to be a football player, the ad flipped from images of Toni working toward her goals to the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid taking on the road. Toni has never been a fan of assumptions, and neither has Toyota.

The 2019 RAV4 Hybrid

Ten years ago, the automotive industry would not have believed in a hybrid SUV as powerful and efficient as the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Even while the new SUV was being developed, people doubted that a hybrid car could be both tough and half electric.

Toyota has proved the skeptics wrong; the 2019 RAV4 Hybrid offers more torque than all previous models, along with a number of tech, safety, and performance updates. Who says a hybrid can’t lead the pack?

Buying a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid

If you like to defy expectations like Toni, the 2019 RAV4 Hybrid was made for you. Stay posted by checking our new Toyota inventory to be the first to get your hands on the wheel as soon as it arrives at our Toyota dealership serving Edison, NJ, Sansone Toyota.

If you’re a Batman fan, this one’s for you. A company called Character Cars has recently been hired to modify the 2002 Toyota MR2 to resemble a Christian Bale-era Batmobile. This will not be a mass-produced car, and there will only be one—would Batman have it any other way?

Toyota Batmobile Details

The epic Batmobile will be a highly modified version of the Toyota MR2, which is a rear-wheel drive, sporty, high-performance Toyota car from the early 2000s. It’s pretty obvious why such a classic Toyota car is being used for the Batmobile, and we here at Sansone Toyota believe there’s no better fit for such a concept.

The Toyota Tumbler will offer accents that we’ve all seen in the movies, such as a faux flame-throwing exhaust and a shifter head with the Batman logo on it. In addition, it will feature an upgraded suspension, dramatic front tires, and a 2.0-liter engine that achieves up to 400 horsepower. The vehicle is also slated to feature front and back infrared cameras, which can help drivers back up and park without crashing into objects. Even Batman knows that safety is first.

However, our favorite part here at Sansone Toyota is the random police lights and sirens that will be included. Unfortunately, these are just for fun, and you won’t be allowed to go out patrolling other drivers.

Is the Toyota “Batmobile” for Sale?

Only one Tumbler-inspired Toyota will be made. However, it is for sale. The vehicle will be auctioned at an event called Historics Auctioneers in England. Rumor has it that the Batmobile will likely go for about $150,000, and the car will be functional for novelty use only.

While our Toyota dealership serving Union, NJ may not offer any Batmobiles, we do sell new Toyota cars that will make you feel like a superhero – with some imagination.
