Toyota’s inspiring super bowl ad centers around Toni Harris, a 22-year old woman who has made football history. She is the first woman to be offered a football scholarship to play on a regular defensive team. Toni stated she was eager to partner with Toyota in a “like-minded quest to defy expectations, lead the change, and overcome adversity.”

Defying expectations is exactly what the commercial centers around. As the ad recreated Toni’s struggles of being told she is “too small, slow, and weak” to be a football player, the ad flipped from images of Toni working toward her goals to the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid taking on the road. Toni has never been a fan of assumptions, and neither has Toyota.

Ten years ago, the automotive industry would not have believed in a hybrid SUV as powerful and efficient as the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Even while the new SUV was being developed, people doubted that a hybrid car could be both tough and half electric.

If you’re a Batman fan, this one’s for you. A company called Character Cars has recently been hired to modify the 2002 Toyota MR2 to resemble a Christian Bale-era Batmobile. This will not be a mass-produced car, and there will only be one—would Batman have it any other way?

Toyota Batmobile Details

The epic Batmobile will be a highly modified version of the Toyota MR2, which is a rear-wheel drive, sporty, high-performance Toyota car from the early 2000s. It’s pretty obvious why such a classic Toyota car is being used for the Batmobile, and we here at Sansone Toyota believe there’s no better fit for such a concept.

The Toyota Tumbler will offer accents that we’ve all seen in the movies, such as a faux flame-throwing exhaust and a shifter head with the Batman logo on it. In addition, it will feature an upgraded suspension, dramatic front tires, and a 2.0-liter engine that achieves up to 400 horsepower. The vehicle is also slated to feature front and back infrared cameras, which can help drivers back up and park without crashing into objects. Even Batman knows that safety is first.

However, our favorite part here at Sansone Toyota is the random police lights and sirens that will be included. Unfortunately, these are just for fun, and you won’t be allowed to go out patrolling other drivers.

Is the Toyota “Batmobile” for Sale?

Only one Tumbler-inspired Toyota will be made. However, it is for sale. The vehicle will be auctioned at an event called Historics Auctioneers in England. Rumor has it that the Batmobile will likely go for about $150,000, and the car will be functional for novelty use only.

The long-awaited 2020 Toyota Supra has officially debuted at the Detroit Auto Show. This new Toyota near Edison, NJ will be the first Toyota Supra since 2002, and while we’ve been hearing about it for a while, we haven’t seen an official overview of the vehicle—until now.

The 2020 Toyota Supra will be offered in two grades, 3.0 and 3.0 Premium. A Launch Edition will also be made available, which is based off the 3.0 Premium trim. Staying true to sports car heritage, the Supra features rear-wheel drive, along with a low center of gravity. To boot, you’re granted a full 50/50 weight distribution, offering a balanced ride at all times.

Complementing its sports-car design is a turbocharged six-cylinder engine, which generates 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment, as are steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Its 0-60 mph run? A slated 4.1 seconds, making it the quickest Toyota yet.

The front fascia is joined by a central grille and large air intakes, while an integrated spoiler and trapezodial rear bumpers adorn the rear. In the cabin, expect the latest technology. A high-definition display, navigation, and a heads-up display are among the offerings. As with any sports car, the 2020 Toyota Supra outfits racing-inspired seating complete with shoulder bolsters, integrated head restraints, and a narrow main section.

However, it seems that Toyota is looking to expand their image to something greater for 2020. We can’t wait to have these cars at our Toyota dealership when they officially come out sometime around fall of 2019.

We’ve seen how the new Toyota Camry and Toyota Avalon have taken on a more powerful, bold appearance for 2019. Now, Toyota is planning to match the interior with that tough exterior.
